I'm running Windows 2000 with my SoundBlaster Live! 1024 card, you're expecting conflicts and general problems which these two are renowned for? Guess what...
It's a question of volume really. When Windows boots up with the typical fanfare it's so loud that I am getting phone calls from people in Bangladesh about this nuisance. 'Just turn the volume down then Dan for Christ sake!', I hear you cry. Yes, well I have, 27 million times. This is my problem then: Whenever I turn the main volume control down in the Play Control thingy me bob in the System Tray, it forgets it, I mean like if I turn either the main volume control or the Wave/Direct Source volume control down, then open a music program (Winamp, Music Match Jukebox etc.) the Wave volume goes straight back up to about 75% of the way. It never stays as I leave it.
This thing is giving me a head/ear ache. I just want the volume to stay the same for gawds sake, is that too much to ask eh? Suggestions then please to help moi out. Else I shall have to put my fist through this monitor, even though it isn't to blame.
Oh look, the volume has shot back up again. Bah!
