Augidy 2 Question for those that have it.....

Do the analog line inputs ( such as line1, mic etc.) in the audigy 2 pass through to the digital output? In other words, can i hear these analog inputs while I have the sound card hooked up to a digital receiver. Or can you only hear these analog inputs through the analog outputs (and not the digital outputs)? I am asking this because my sound card ( game theater xp) currently supports this (in a driver upgrade), and i love it. Thanks...

I don't have the Platinum version so I don't know if there's support for the digital in there, but with the regular card, the digital din is output only.

Yes, any analog inputs will be output through the digital out (TV Tuner, MIDI device, MIC etc.). If you connect using digital out, you'll still hear any analog output through your receiver and your speakers (games, cds, mp3s, etc). If you have AC-3 source data and want your receiver to decode it, you need to choose spdif passthrough in creative hardware manager. I've been testing this some, but I don't think you get the upmixing (CMSS2 or Advanced EAX HD) capabilities of the Audigy 2 when analog source material is sent through the digital output and into your receiver. I'm pretty sure the receiver takes the analog signal and then uses its own Pro Logic algorithms for playback. Again I need to double-check this to be sure (pretty easy, just need to run the demo disc).
