Augh... I can't get out of standby (It's lockes up my machine)

System specs..

P3 600 mhz
Geforce 256 sdram
30 gig hd.
256 rdram (800 mhz.)
sound blaster live!
12x 40x dvd
Windows 2000 pro. (All updated w/ service pak 3)

This is my work machine...

What happens is that when my computer goes into standby it locks up. I need to use standby, because I like to leave my computer on.
Hibernation works, but I don't like this feature. I want to use standby!

Any help would be appreciated.

Just have your monitor turn off in the control panel. I hate standby because it isn't "instant access" when I use my computer. Plus, I haven't turned off my computer for months other than installing a 430watt antec power supply and adding an additional 120gb hard drive.
