36 million will not even buy one plane. The commanders said they did not need it and then the pentagon or whoever controls the funding built it because the money was already appropriated. You have to know how grants and funding works. Besides, someone got paid to build it, so the money went into the economy.

This. If, towards the end of the fiscal year, you still have money left over and don't spend it, your budget is reduced the next year.

Because "both groups" rarely get the whipping. Democrats (like McCaskill) are like political Jeffrey Dahmer's with decapitated heads in their freezers, who run around wanting to crucify others for misdemeanors. Typically the military has been their fav whipping target since it was the best functioning of gov area. Lets see a Dem show concern for an IRS or EPA abusing people for political puposes. Phonies.

Dems aren't happy with anything until its broken, dysfinctional, zany and set up to need "saving" (often from them). Compared to Obama breaking the bank and aiding US enemies, a relativley cheap building project lost in a war zone is a trifle. Next they will next be saying the building was built by rapists and phobes and congress needs an investigation.

I can't stop laughing at the bolded. You must have never been in the military or contracted to do work for the military.

I have. And while it is pretty shoddily run, I can't think of a government entity that functions better. The product the military delivers is pretty good, even if costly.
