A true clutchless manual with no interruption in gear change? Dang, that sounds too good to be true... question is... will they offer it here and can it hold a lot of power? I'm already imagining the possibilities of an S4 or other such Audi with this tranny.

I'm sitting on a fat insurance check waiting for the A4 1.8T Cabrio (not they ghey VW, the new A4 2-door 'vertible). I can't tell from the article if the TT has an actual 5 speeds in the gearbox or if it is similar to the tiptronics. It also mentioned racing-style steering wheel paddles. The A4 has a tiptronic shifting system that is unrivaled by anything else out there. I test drove the A4 3.0 with the same tiptronic system that will be in the 1.8T, but at $46k thats a bit too pricey compared to other cars in that range.
