i recently installed an Explorer shell app that adds 2 new tabs to the file Property dialog-box of Audio files. the prog is a freeware called AudioShell (www.softpointer.com/AudioShell.htm) and it's very similar to another freeware called MP3 File Extention. both are great but i liked AudioShell better because it supports several Audio formats besides MP3 and it shows the MP3 album cover on the dialog-box itself.
well, my problem is that once installed, the AudioShell's shell is not available from my WinXP Limited Accounts. i'm wondering if there is a way to *ensure* that a given prog is installed for *All Users* when it doest actually give you this option during its installation routine....
since this is a shell prog, the trick to open the prog as an Admin using "right-click > Run As" does not apply. btw, i checked the Registry from my Admin Account and i noticed that AudioShell added about 15 new keys to the CURRENT_USER branch. maybe there were more additions, but i cant say for sure.... i'd rather not mirror those 15 keys to the Limited Account's USERS branch since it might be too much of a gambling.... i've considered converting the Limited Account into an Admin Account temporarily and then re-installing AudioShell, but i havent done it yet.... i might try that if i cant find a simpler solution.
anyone here using AudioShell under a Limited Account on WinXP? any suggestions?
thanx in advance!
