M-Audio Delta 440

Anyone know anything about these cards? I'm switching from klipsch 4.1s to a Receiver and 2 Polk RTi38s + Dayton sub. Would this soundcard be a boost in audio quality over the current onboard sound (realtek)? I have an Audigy 2 also, but i had some problems with software so I disabled it until I have time to mess with it. I might just pull it and put it in my home computer next chance I get (i live in a dorm).

What do you guys think?

My current solution is just a radioshack minijack to stero converter.

The 2496 is tops for 2 channel stereo in that price range. $149 at Newegg.

I'm sure the Delta and Revolution are very good as well.

If you're willing to live with less than stellar gaming support and only 2 RCA's for outs, then it's a good decision.

I don't know if it supports multi positional audio, though.

I'm thinking that once I do have a surround sound setup I can just put my receiver into prologic 2 and it would decode into simulated surround?

...But then what would be the point of having the Audiophile soundcard..? It's main strentghs are it's analog outputs. When it comes down to digital, soundstorm will probably be more than adaquate.

For games, you can set to just stereo or use a receiver with 5.1 (6.1 / 7.1) analog inputs and run analog from the Audigy2. If you want good game support [ and high-quality music playback ] you're pretty much stuck with Creative. If you only want good music output and don't need reliable gaming support then you have more choices like the M-Audio.

Excellent speaker choice BTW, I have Polk RTi28's in my home office and RT55's for my home theater fronts.

glad to hear you like em! Its encouraging as I ordered them based on reviews and have not heard them yet. Did your 28s require much wearing in? I read that they arent too bright which is what I want... I guess I will have to resolve my audigy 2 driver issues.
