For AUDIOPHILES it MAY be HOT. Compare these speakers to OTHER audiophile speakers that retail for DOUBLE or more than its price. If this deal is not for you, let it go. Otherwise, you are just "bumping" the thread to the top and giving it more importance than it would normally have.
Appopin,
As you pointed out, I am a proud junior member. But I dare to challenge your argument, and believe you are actually wrong. You are missing my point. My main point is that a hot deal must be measured objectively rather than subjectively. I am not saying that you can completely rule out personal opinion or preference, but you should not base your hot deal completely on your personal preference or perception. If you call this a hot deal because there is a remote possibility that this product may interest a very small portion of people in this forum, then what is not a hot deal? I don't know Rockets are good speakers or not, but that is irrelevant because the original post and your argument are completely based on your perception and preference. I can instantly list 100 hot deals if I use your rationale. I own VW Passat and BMW 325i, and think VW is better than BMW in most measures (maybe except handling and acceleration department). If I post a deal saying "VW Passat is a hot deal because it is better than a $6,000 more expensive car and all the reviews say so," everyone will jump and laugh at me. Appopin, can you tell me the difference between this example and the Rocket speaker deal? This post could be hot for someone who didn't know VW Passat is a decent car (I doubt it though), but more people will resent me. Actually this post is better than the Rocket deal because I, at least, have first-hand experience. If I post a deal saying that I found a VW Passat $3,000 lower than its invoice, then I have a hot deal. Sorry for not being able to show more respect to senior members. Please forgive my rudeness.
