I have been a Winamp/Milkdrop loyalist for a long time, especially when better CPUs and video cards allow you to crank the settings very high.

I have tried to Google this topic a few times with minimal success and thought I would ask here. I guess visualization is largely a gimmick and not very practical in this day and age of streaming music, but I was hoping to get some insight on what people are using for home situations.

I have yet to find anything that rivals the aforementioned program with a huge mesh size and presets set up to avoid seeing the same thing twice for a while.

I think it is because I have never really looked and hoping this thread might point me in the right direction of visualization nirvana. I have a 1090t@ 3.6GHz and HD7950 so hardware limits should be ok.

So what is everyone using, and is this a segment fading into professional realms only?

I always liked the one that came with iTunes, but that requires iTunes, so I can't recommend it. I also like the sheep that came with RealPlayer. Last one I used regularly was the stock version on Foobar2000. Not much to look at, but it added movement, and gave a good idea of what the music did over short periods of time. I don't use anything now.
