Audio Theatre in a box

Anyone have any brand recommendations for home theatre "in a box" The bundles that come all together (receiver, speakers,etc). I'm looking for something in the lower - mid price range for my plasma. 5.1?

I really advise reading that link - it is excellent.

My strong suggestion is to buy something quality within your budget, even if that means going without 5.1 sound. Home audio in a box is rarely worth it. Spend that same $400-500 on a decent receiver and front speakers, and build your way from there.

I suggest something Onkyo, especially in your price range. At least you won't be stuck, like I am with my HTiB that I got a few months ago.

I was going the same route for a htib, but after posting here I was corrected. I ended up parting everything out and while it was a little more expensive, I feel the quality and long-term use is a lot better.

My receiver is an Onkyo, but speakers are polk.

What's your price range? I would also avoid going the htib route.

Don't get HTIB. I did and ended up replacing it with a real receiver and better speakers.

I know its pretty cheap for a system..but I'm trying to stay around $350

You can get this...but you are sacrificing quite a bit of quality from the SR800 set.
