I got a recommendation for these over at the headfi.org forums and I was just wondering what people here think about them. As far as looks go, they definitely look pretty sexy and the reviews on the sound seem VERY positive. I'm getting them refurbished from buydig.com. Refurbished headphones aren't any lower in sound quality or overall performance are they? I see people around here getting refurbished all the time and I just wondered about them.

They shouldn't be any worse refurbished, however the ES models of Audio-Technica have had a ton of issues with fakes, so be sure to check them out when you get them.

The ES7s do offer solid sound quality.

I'm running the ath-m50's right now. I like closed back designs for the sound isolation.

I had the ES7's, excellent headphone, but unfortunately I wasn't able to get them to fit comfortably on my head. Supposedly you can bend them a bit to make it better, but I never tried, though most at head-fi report the bending worked. I recall their sound to be surprisingly good, especially for the price. Bass was tight and treble had sparkle, but not sibilant or too bright. The ES7's were one of the few that I actually said wow out loud when I started listening, but unfortunately the comfort issues were too much for me.

Enjoy em and let us know what you think!
