Audio Switch???

I want to hook up my Xbox and PC into one speaker system. I got the Y-cable that turns the L and R inputs into the one audio input and wanted to know if there is a switch that will let me change between the two inputs... one for the PC and one for the Xbox audio out. Thanks!

Are the speakers connected to your computer?

How about running to the line-in of your soundcard?

The speakers are connected to my computer. I wanted to be able to switch between the two though. By the way, I am using the Altec Lansing v2121 speakers. Thanks!

So muting line-in (would be xbox) when you're not using it is not what you want?

If you really want something that switches, you could get a KMV switch and just use the audio portion of it. I'm sure there are ones that are just for audio, but I don't know of any off the top of my head.

What I am trying to say is... you know those audio video selectors you can buy at a place like Radio Shack? Do they have those for the Line in thing I'm talking about.

Ok, I'm confused now...

When you said "L and R inputs into the one audio input" I assumed you just said input instead of output...
(as in I took it to mean you got an adapter that takes the red and white RCA outputs from the xbox and changed it into a standard 1/8" male or female connection like your comptuer speakers use).

Is that the case or not?

What "line in" are you talking about? The only line-in I'm thinking about is the one on your computer.

So, do you have 1/8" input on your speakers
1/8" output from your comptuer
1/8" output from your xbox

and you want to be able to select between the two sources and feed them to the speaker input?
