Hmmm.. Beyond Good and Evil is tempting. I never played it, but heard good things. 5 bucks? Hmm.

That's beyond awesome though I'm still not a big fan of Steam (don't get me wrong it's the best for what it is but I'm still a guy who likes to have physical copies of his games).

I pulled the trigger, BG+E is at 30%. I love Steam, I buy it, and in less than an hour, I play it, fully patched. I understand what you mean Puic2020, it took me awhile to get over not having discs to hold. At least you can burn your Steam backup! :)

If anyone has not played Beyond Good and Evil, definitely get it at this price. It is an incredibly good game.

Eek, BG+E has some serious graphical issues on my Q6600, 8800GT, Vista x64 SP1 - it's not even playable. Looks like I'll be giving it a shot on one of my older XP machines tomorrow, will give me a chance to unpack a USB controller which should make playing the game a whole lot easier anyway.

I was considering getting BG+E but after your post I'm left wondering if the game works on Vista 64 and Radeon 3870.

I'm DLing it on my laptop just to see how it handles there. Tomorrow I'll test it out on an XP desktop. I was reading a few threads around the net and it seemed to be a Vista (64?) issue. The first incompatibility I've run into so far in my year of Vista usage.

Audiosurf is the best.

And if you've got the balls: Machinae Supremacy - Need for Steve

Well, I just pulled the trigger on BGE for 5 bucks. I jumped on Prey when it was 5 bucks too.

Just as an updated for the Vista users thinking about jumping on BG+E, I did some more searching and found that it's just a few settings in the advanced graphics set up that can alleviate the graphical artifacting. Take a look here, all I did was disable HW Vertex Processing, and it's like butta' for me now.

I played it before on my older machine but reinstalled it on my new machine with the same specs as you and I have no issues.

Vista 64, too? Hmm. Weird. I found a thread elsewhere that listed a few advanced settings that needed to be changed to get it working without graphical issues and now I'm groovy. Wonder if you just happened to have 'em set that way to begin with.

Thanks for heads up. Think I'll be getting BG+E soonish. :)

5 bucks? Can't beat it. I'm about an hour in and loving it.

I tried searching for the game but both "beyond good & evil" "beyond good and evil" and just "beyond good" turned out no results.

I had to use Google to access it from the Steam website :rolleyes; but it's 9.99$ now, it's still a steal though, I might look into it, I missed this game back when it was released on the PS2.

I can handle not having a shiny boxart, manual and disc for just $9.99 :)

Oh BTW, not Steam, but check out this awesome deal on Psychonauts.

I'm definitely getting it now, that's another supposedly classic I missed last gen.

Tried to find the game on Steam but got this instead:
This product doesn't appear to be available in your region.
Further googling revealed that the game is only available to North Americans.

What bollocks.
