I have a Sound Blaster Live Value card. I have a crappy pair of speakers, but I am planning on getting a high-quality set of headphones.

However, the high-quality headphones won't matter unless I can set my own EQ settings for all games/music/cds/video that I play. Basically, I want EQ software that applies to every sound coming out of my computer. I'd prefer it to disable Windows sound control.

Is there software that can do this? Also, is the software that I can download from Creative for my Live Value card any good? I would like independent control of each sound range (kind of like Winamp) so that my game sounds can have more midrange, less bass, less low trebel, more high trebel, etc..

I am sick of my computer sound being terrible compared to my car and home theater.

Do NOT tell me I need a new sound card. I want software that processes the sound first. If I can't get the quality I want, then I will think about purchasing a newer card.

You could try the kx project, though am not sure how good the game support is.
