Audio recroding software

Subject pretty much says it all. I'm looking for software to record audio from an analog device plugged into my sound card. Free/shareware is prefered. Thanx.

The computer to be used is some old prebuilt and it has integrated audio. Will the software that comes w/SB Live cards do the trick? Or will it only work w/a Creative sound card?

That might work. And thanx to yer post I was like "Man, why the hell don't I go find it myself instead of being a lazy b|tch." So I went to download.com and D/Led 'bout half dozen proggies. I'm sure one of them is what my friend needs 😉
