Audio recording problems

I am having some trouble with getting recording to work properly with built in sound. My old Gigabyte board was easy to setup audio. However for some reason I can't get the computer to recognize any other line in ventrilo but CD line. I know the Mic works since I can actually hear my recordings, however the computer isn't recognizing (in other words not letting me adjust the sliders.

The Gigabyte HD audio manager isn't giving me anymore info either other than showing me the Mic and Speakers are plugged in.
