Audio problem

Hello I just got a new computer with an msi 915p combo F motherboards, and I'm having trouble getting the audio driver to work, when I go to install it it says device has either be removed manual or something, I don't see how it could be removed because it's attached to the mother board, but I went on c-media's site and it said I have to download Microsoft High Definition Audio, any idea of what that is ? I did a search and can't find it, maybe it's something that is unpluged because when I got it in the mail today, the jumpers were unpluged for the on and off switch on the case.. Okay thanks alot.

If I remember right, when installing the drivers from the cd, it will automaticall install the ms high def audio. What you can try is go to msi website and downlaod the latest drivers from there and see if they work

Already tried that, the system doesn't even regonise the audio at all, and I set it on the bios to use onboard audio, and than set the audio mode to correspond with the driver I'm trying to install. Under hardware it says that there's now ? and audio codec is there.

Anyone ? I'm really stumped here and I want to get it fixed cause It's a brand new comp and I want to play around, could it be anything pluged into the motherboard? I checked the bios like 100 times.

Well I reinstalled windows and that worked sort of, but now I connect to my speakers "logitech 680" thru an optical cord, and I can only get stereo and not the 6 speakre system sound that I have, I have it set for 6 speaker system on the Xear 3d software (c-media) But it doesn't work. Anyone have any suggestion?

I'm not sure on your analog problem, but for a digital connection, only getting 2 channel out of it is normal unless you're playing a DVD movie.

There are only a couple cards that would get you surround sound through a digital connection for games.

Oo as long as it's not a hardware problem I don't care, How much is a card with surround sound fiber optics?

You need a DD-capable stereo system or reciever/speaker package.

I think it would work find for his z-680s too.

The turtle beach montego is the other card that does this.

Unless you really want to run digital though, a card like an audigy2 value would be a good match for z-680s and gaming.
