Ok i have an intel pocket concert mp3 player and headphones (brand unimportant right now.) It has been working fine up until about now where i either get sound in one ear, a REALLY FCKING LOUD sound (even though volume is at 0), or sound in both ears normal (rarely though), or no sound at all. To get either of the 4, i have move the audio connectorof the headphones around and around in all sorts of directions or twist the wire.

It is not the headphones as i have tried others on it, i guess its the player itself. Is there anything i can do? this crap costs $250 and is out of warranty. any way to fix it?

The most common problem with these things are the jacks. It sounds to me that either you have a loose wire that maybe causing the circuit to be open or short....or the headphones aren't made by that manuafacturer. What often happens is headphones can either be stereo or mono and they will have either two or three, respectively, metal contacts on the 3.5 mm male connector that plugs into the jack. Some companies make their headphones just a little off from the rest of the industry, but usually don't mean to. You might want to try another set of headphones or maybe try pulling the thing apart and looking for loose wires. ;)

it isnt the headphones. Ok i TRIED trying to unscrew it...INTEL FvCKING wielded the screws on very very tightly, and all my philps screw drivers are too big, and my mini ones too weak. and no drill either...k i should calm down, but then again its a $250 item.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time with it. My suggestion is still check for the loose wires. Go out and get a computer repair kit... It usually has 4 screwdrivers in it....2 large and 2 small and they run $9 at Radio Shack. They can open almost anything that I have to disect. It sounds like the jack needs to possibly be replaced. If you're having these problems, I would call up Intel and let them know what your problem is and find out if they have a service center somewhere....then get an estimate. After that, check on getting a new one and see what the diff in price is. If it's out of warranty, that tells me you've had it at least a year. They have Rio Volts out there now and you may be happy with one...just a thought....

I do have small screwdrivers and they're weak. Intel wielded them screws on there. If i open hte thing up, can a n00b audio n00b fix or replace the jack??
