Audio popping (Youtube, mostly) since Mavericks update

Hi there,

I have a late 2011 Macbook Air, that was working fine and dandy until the Mavericks upgrade. Now, occasionally when I play Youtube videos or sometimes when Spotify is running, the audio pops and crackles. In fact, I just heard it with some system audio, so not sure what's causing it.

Googling this, this seems to be an issue for some which mostly point it to Chrome, however, it happens in all browsers for me. And it doesn't happen every time.

Has anyone had this issue? Had no issues on the previous OS version.

My 2013 Macbook Air doesn't have those symptoms. I wonder if it's a hardware issue? Does it happen on Pandora? What about just playing mp3s?

It was pretty drastic after the Mavericks upgrade. I haven't noticed it while using iTunes or VLC - mainly those above things. Recently was the one time I've heard it while a system notification sound came on though I don't use them often.
