My setup is as under:

Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) + GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT + ATI Radeon HD 4200 (Onboard GPU) with AMD 965 BE processor. THis is my HTPC setup and installed the Ubuntu with MythTV,HULU . Most of the stuff is good, except one major issue. No sound OVER HDMI. I'm using my Panny plasma as monitor (and video is just fine). I'm connecting to HDMI (IN) of the Panasonic Plasma.

Questions are.

1. Is this supported or not in the first place. ? There are numerous articales on
Tom's, here on Anandtech saying 7 channel , LPCM is not supported, 5.1 Dolby is over HDMI. Definitely,2 channel is supported as well. I request to confirm this if this has ever been done on Ubuntu or Linux in general.

2.What other drivers etc are required to make this work?

Any help/pointers are highly appreciated...

thanks!

Tx, but the problem is the release notes does mention ATI Radeon, HD 4200 driver ..But actual
driver download site does not list the HD4200 Linux driver (both 32bit and 64bit are not there).
So, I'm wondering which driver to use now..
