Audio out on TV doesn't work with XBox360 connected via component

I have wireless speakers connected to the Audio out on my Samsung HLP4667W... Works fine with my satelite receiver that's connected via RCAs... but they don't work with my Xbox 360 & other satelite receiver which are both connected via component cables... I've looked around the menus and no luck getting this to work...

What am I doing wrong?

Component cables are for video only. Do you have the audio from those devices hooked up at all?

hmm, yea... the sound comes out of the TV just fine... just not out of my speakers.

What's the model of the speakers that you are using?

Acoustic Research AW-871 Wireless Stereo Speakers

The transmitter for the AW-871 is very picky when it comes to signals, and the output you are using on your tv isn't meant for speakers. It's meant to be hooked to an receiver.

Did you hook the speakers directly to the xbox?

nah, I haven't... wanted it to work with all my equipment... guess I'll need a receiver to do that.
