My old HTPC only had the standard speaker jack. I split this, sending audio to the tv and my stereo (so I can have music without turning the tv on).
My new HTPC mobo has HDMI which I will be using to connect to the TV. I'm assuming I can't use both the HDMI and the speaker jack at the same time.
a) Can I split the audio off the HDMI cable?
b) I have a USB sound adapter, can I use this as a second audio output without screwing things up?
