Hello,

I've just build a new computer to replace a XP3200+ on a gigabyte motherboard with a geforce 6600 (gigabyte too). The new computer use a E7200 with the GA-EP43-DS3L and the same graphic card.

The usage of the computer is mostly to make audio for video.
I had no latency problem on my old computer, but I have problem with the new one to get a clear sound. I've just found about dpc and did some testing.

Playing a video
Playing a video fullscreen
Launching speedfan :Q

Speedfan freeze when detecting the video card for about 20s and the computer become unusable. I didn't get this problem on the old one. With a basic 7300GS, speedfan works correctly but nothing change when playing video. And I have often spike when playing real time audio :(

Furthermore, I had even worse result when my mouse was plugged into the usb hub of the monitor and not directly to the computer.

This is not acceptable for my usage. Any suggestions to fix this or should I just get another mobo ? ( any suggestions for a better mobo without that kind of problem?)

Thank.

Hi, have you checked the DPC Latency tool to see your results? There is a thread that contains various info on certain Gigabyte boards. I have the same board as you.
The next step would be to contact Gigabyte Tech Support and ask for a BIOS update that eliminates this DPC latency. I received a BIOS version of f8t which seemed to solve my DPC Latency issues. I have yet to put the machine through its paces, audio wise, and so I am not sure of overall performance. DPC latency spikes are a lot less occurent now and by eliminating those I think you'll be in good stead to have a less troublesome audio/video machine.

We're not talking about the same board. Latest bios for mine is F5.
I've contacted gigabyte tech support. Are they quick to answer?
