I have an ESC Black Motherboard, GF8200 chipset running IDT digital driver that came with the MB. Got a quad core 2.6g AMD AM2 processor, no load to speak of highest usage is 8-10%, yet I get random "bruupss" during audio playback using either winamp or VLC media player. Reminds of years ago when and old audio card would lockup and keep repeating the same sound until you kill it.

IDT does not offer drivers, only available through MB manufacturer, which is what I have. I reinstalled it, no help. Very annoying, not sure how to resolve it. Any suggestions?

After doing a lot of research I think I identified the problem. I was getting severe latency issues, DPC Latency Checker identified part of the problem. Went through my system checking every device, no luck. Started killing programs, finally found the culprit -- Malwarebytes! Every 20 seconds it would through a huge spike. I killed the program and my audio issues resolved. Now, I just need to get what ever issue Malwarebytes was causing resolved.
