There was a lot of participation in an equalizer thread in OT yesterday. Made me think we have a lot of hi-fi buffs here. Enough to start a new forum?

If there were it probably wouldn't matter.

There is a lot of support for splitting up Software/Games/Programming but it hasn't happened, yet. Same with a Mac Forum.

That's because of a Mac specific forum is just stupid. The programming forum idea is a good one though.

It won't. I know most of you never venture outside of OT but this is a COMPUTER forum.
Is that constructive enough?

Thanks, but I was really more interested in a show of interest than prognostications of its likelihood.

I'd like it. <----a show of interest :) I read head-fi.org quite a bit as things exist now.

I would agree with the above posts that the software forum should be dealt with first as it's a mess. On a related area, are there any certain forums that could be eliminated? Going through 50 forums would get old quick.

Technical Support could easily be eliminated (and probably should). As it is, most people post their problems in the other tech forums (GH, Video, etc.) anyway - and that works just fine IMO. TS doesn't get near the traffic that the others do anyway.

I'd be interested, but realistically, splitting apps and programming is more important.

Most AV questions end up in peripherals and GH. Peripherals is dead enough as it is.

I agree with the AVSforum comment. A significant number of threads based on speakers here end up being logitech vs klipsch debates which doesn't help anyone (especially anyone looking to get useful Audio comments).

If I see somebody wanting to get real info on a real setup I try to get them to go to AVSforum.
