Audio from Laptop to TV?

So what do I need to do to get sound from my laptop to come out of the TV's speakers? I remember someone telling me about using a 3.5mm audio jack to RCA cable converter.

Is that correct? Is it 3.5mm or 2.5mm??? (the standard headphone jack)

Is 3.5mm the same as 1/8" male stereo plug???

Yes

however:

" stands for inch.
1/8 = 0.125
1 inch = 25.4mm
3.5mm =? 0.125 * 25.4mm
Actually on the right hand side you'll have 3.175mm
I do not know how to explain this but yes 1/8" jack is 3.5 mm jack
