Ok, I have a Sony STR-DE575 receiver connected to my surround sound speakers. I want to connect my tv to my receiver so the TV will play through my speakers. I only have Audio and Video Inputs on my TV (it's a Sharp 19")

I heard you can connect all up some how through the cable box or the vcr but I dont have either of those things.

Is there any way through an adapter or anything I can hook up my TV to my receiver so the TV sound goes through my receiver and out my surround speakers...

Thanks!

There's not a way that I'm aware of. However, if there is, ensure you don't spend too much money trying to perform a sound modification. New 20" Apex flat scree TVs can be purchased for $179.

If you have a VCR, connect its video out to your TV, set your TV to video and use the VCR's tuner. Connect the VCR's audio out to an input on your receiver and you'll be able to watch television channels on your TV and listen to the audio through your stereo.

Yeah, just get a cheap VCR off Ebay or from your local classifieds. That's the cheapest way I can think of to do it. Just make sure whatever VCR you get has STEREO audio output. 😉
