Hello members,
I have a Denon AVR-5700 that's been a solid performer for over a decade, tonight I notice that my audio suddenly dropped out while watching TV. Powering off and then on again seems to fix the problem but not all the time, I have verified that my optical inputs, coaxial digital inputs and analog inputs go mute. I have tried wiggling and re-installing all inputs, it seems something is about to fail. It happens with my Blu-Ray player and my Dish Network setups to rule the source components.
If I crank the volume high enough I can barely hear my speakers, my unit shows all 5 speakers on and the "Lock" LED indicates it has a lock on the digital signal when muted. I realize my Denon unit is old and is worth more to me than having to go out and buy another unit since it has 140 watts x5 into 8 ohms and has been driving five 4 ohm speakers its entire life. What component looks like the culprit and is it expensive?
I would appreciate any input!
