I'm using the optical output of my IS7's built-in sound. My receiver can't stand it, because it tries to autodetect whatever is coming into it. This means I don't hear short sounds, and if I hear a sound from a dead silence, the first second is cut off. I need to go back to analog connections eventually anyway for when I get an Audigy 2 and start listening to DVD-A.
Does anyone have any recommendations for audio cables? I already have the male-to-male cables that came with my old Z680s, though I'm not sure of the length. I'll need at least 12 ft, since my receiver is far from my computer. If they're long enough, factor in the cost of some 1/8" female to 2 RCA male adaptors (these are near impossible to find!)
Is it worth ponying up the $$ for a quality cable or would 3 sets of these (part no. 240-029) and cheap RCA female to 1/8" male adapters sound good on my setup?
Should I spring for higher quality interconnects like these (part no. 249-080) or these (part no. 263-406) be worth the extra $$? I'm not sold on expensive speaker wire since copper is copper, but are interconnects a different animal?
