Audio chirps

I have a soundblaster Live! 5.1 with a SB-DB2 i/o card hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V420 6 channel reciever with both 6 channel analog inputs, and thru my i/o card in my computer via a TOSLink/SPDIF cable. Ever since last night when I was trying to use virtualdub for video&audio capture, I started getting intermitent chirps on almost all audio I play. It doesn't matter whether i'm using 6 channel inputs or the TOSLink cable, or another set of speakers, I still get the chirps. I've tried reinstalling my audio drivers (which somehow get corrupted every other time I reboot my system) but I still get the chirps. It happens in both the front, and the rear channels as well. Any idea what could be causing this problem?
