Audio CD's only play through Win Media Player

My audio CD's only play through the Windows Media Player (WinMe).

When I try to play through the Creative or ATI or Winamp player there is no
sound, although the player is showing the song playing.

The song files on the CD are listed as winamp media file types.

How can I play through the other players.

Thanks,

um, genius I am not, but some possibilities:
1. file associations in the My Computer folderoptions>filetypes needs to be changed (you are looking at .cda).
2. In WMP you can find in the options the file types it can associate with. Perhaps you better uncheck .cda
3. Check in your other players the configuration options with regard to how the CD sound is being outputted. You can use audio to soundcard, or digital.

Double-click on the volume control in the taskbar, then click on 'options', 'properties', then make sure the volume control is shown for the device you're using.

Right-click on the file you wish to play and select 'open with...' then select the program you want to use - you can make this the default program by click on the 'always use this program?' box.

In addition to the above advice, make sure that Windows Media Player is not open while you are trying to play a song using one of the other programs - oftentimes, if two programs are open which use the same sound card resources, you won't be able to hear any output.
