I've been using my trusty 8x4 Yamaha SCSI burner for years now. Don't laugh, I'll be getting a new 24x for xmas. I've never had a probelm burning audio cd's from mp3's the entire time I've had it. I've must've burned at least 300 cd's. I use Nero 5.5. However, Last week I upgraded from Windows 2000 to Windows XP. I burned a few data CD's in Nero without any hitches, but today I burned my first audio CD in Windows XP. The first attempt seemed ok until I actually listened to the audio from the CD and noticed lots of pops and what sounds like stutters. I double checked the MP3's and they are fine. I thought that maybe I should try another burning program so I burned the same exact songs with EZCD 5.02. I got the same exact thing.....stutters and pops. Lastly I downloaded windows XP ASPI updates and installed them. The update said everything was fine. I thought for sure that would fix my problem, but after burning a third CD in Nero I still have the ecact same problem? I'm clueless. Normally I would've said it was the program, but neither program worked. I can't imagine my burner would go bad just as I switched to Windows XP.
Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on? I'm stumped. I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.
