I have an Audigy2 ZS and a Creative P7800 7.1 Speaker Setup... I have everything set up correctly the way it was with my previous audio (Realtek AC'97) and it worked fine... then I popped in my new shiney Audigy2 ZS... and now none of the side or rear channels seem to work. I installed the special drivers for XP x64, which made most of the sound work except the side and rear speakers. With my Realtek, everything worked fine, now it doens't work anymore. I was using Winamp to test it and nothing, I figured Windows Media Player would have better surround sound support, and still nothing. The subwoofer works aswell as the front left/right and center. Just no side or rear. I went into the Creative Console that I also installed and it detected my 7.1 and had it chosen for me already. Is there a setting I missed or is this just how its going to be?
Hmm.... I just played Chronicles of Riddick and the 7.1 works in the game... but it doesn't work in Winamp or any other app not already pumping out 7.1 sound. So I guess the real question is, how do I make it so any sound is playing through all my speakers instead of just the front ones?
Nevermind. Had to go into the console and set CMSS 3D to Stereo Surround and it plays it through all the speakers now. I dunno how to delete my topic so I guess it'll just be here if anyone else wonders how to do this.
