Audigy2 ZS Platinum

hm.. I was about to get a chaintech av-710 for $28 shipped... is this worth the extra cost? (I am switching from onboard sound so it's not like I'm an audiophile.)

Depends on if you have the speakers/headphones to make a difference. I have the Chaintech and think it's pretty good for the price. Definitely better than onboard. Of course this audigy2 zs would destroy it and would be better with games. If all the rebates went through and you have decent speakers it would be totally worth the price diff.
