What does the ZS version have that the Value doesnt? Is the ZS worth the extra 35 dollars or would i not notice any difference between the two in terms of sound?
 
i dont think that there is enough of a differance to warrent the extra 35 dollar price increase, imo.

differances? afaik, the biggest one is the snr, i think it goes up a few decibles.
 
I think you get different surround mode options with the zs, but this might have changed with the newer drivers.

The zs has a firewire port.

How much are you getting for a price on these?

The A2value goes on sale for about $35 or $40 AR, the zs for around $50 or $60 AR.
 
well i can get the gamer edition for $70 AR, but i havent found any other good deals. Anyone mind pointing out better deals?

ZZF and newegg tended to be places that had the rebate deals.

Are you looking at the ZZF deal for the gamer edition?
If you want all those games that come with it, that's a good deal.

The sales will come back. They've been off and on since the X-Fi came out.
 
I wished the Audigy2 Platinum for $7X deal come back (buy.com OOS and ZZF last platinum deal raise the $)
I look to try the extra port.

One thing to keep in mind is some mobo (PCI-e, like I have Asus AN8-e) that without firewire onboard will benefit from the added firewire in the ZS card (not the value) as PCI slot is in short demand...
(sound card, TV card....
 
the ZS has firewire, the value does not. The ZS has gold-plated connectors, the value does not (for all the difference it makes, not sure really how much).

Kind of a moot point, but the ZS looks cooler with the gold-plated connectors vs the boring colored plastic 😛
