Audigy2 Driver issues - possible install messup

I think the installation went wrong when I recently installed an Audigy2 - but reinstalling hasn't solved the issues.

DirectSound works, but thats about it - any Creative utilities / applications all fail to run

Creative Diagnostics(the only thing which runs) gives:
Hardware found; DirectSound pass :: everything else fails !

I have tried the driver update from Creative; Please help !

Un-install the driver package and then reboot. Then install the latest driver package from Creative.
