Audigy2 Analog question

BassBomb

I've got a 3.1 system hooked via a reciever

currently using digital spdif out from the audigy2 to pass to digital spdif input on the reciever

however it seems to use 2 channel pcm instead of 5.1 or something, i believe this is able to be set in Audigy2 speaker settings (something I don't have since this was an oem card).

Anybody have this program?

Otherwise i will be forced to use analog connections.. leads me to my main question of:

If I use analog connections (C/Sub + L/R) will the C and Sub actually have their own channels from games or music?... Music I would expect L/R and Sub, where games would use everything. I am just worried I will end up with a missing sub channel when playing music

Anolog is about your best rout right now. No you won't loose bass in the music. As a matter of fact you may end up with the music playing threw all channels. So it won't be suround sound but it may end up treating the rear speakers like the front speakers with music playback.

well its only 3.1 so no rears to worry about

i hooked it up and the creative test program can verify the channels uniquely

playing regular music in winamp won't go to the sub right now though

the sub is active in 5.1 movies and games

also noticed the sub only activates for music if i turn on "bass redirection" but that adds its own crossover and sounds terrible

as a current work around i left digital spdif hooked up for music and can use analog for video/games

futher update, no sub channel is recieved via video games OR music when using Analog connection
