Hey guys, just put the PC together and my SB Audigy ZS is not being detected at all by windows on my MSI K8N Neo2..

Any Ideas? I have disabled onboard sound in bios..what else could it be?

not at all, i changed pci slots and all, when I boot up it acts like there is nothing there..I checked device manager nothing there, tried to install drivers from audigy cd and it is telling me it cannot find a supported card.

Does it show in the boot up sign on screen? The one that lists all the devices and interupts? Should say something like multimedia controller.

Any utils find it?

Do you have any other PCI cards in the system?

Are they detected?

I had a Neo2 that none of the PCI slots worked.

for some reason (I figured it out) in the PNP/PCI settings in BIOS, I had to change the "resources controlled by" option from Auto ESCD to Manual..then it detected it.

Why would it not auto detect it?

This is odd, hope I dont have a faulty moboard.

well all the sudden i got a blue screen of death and my soundcard is not being detected again, no matter what pnp/pci setting I use....this is wonderful...never had these issues with intel.

What you're experiencing isn't a chipset/cpu issue, it's a broken hardware issue. Try to borrow another PCI card to test the motherboard. If you can't do that, then if you bought the sound card and the motherboard from the same supplier, see if they'll RMA both together and test both. It's common to have something broken on a new motherboard, and the problem you're having is the price we pay for building our own.
