I've never been a fan of Creative, or their products(although they have little to no competition as far as sound cards go), but i'm just curious as to what the overall advantage to buying, lets say an Audigy 2 ZS card is at this point. I just ordered a new system and have opted to just use the onboard soundcard hooking it up to my Altec ADA885s. I don't have enough space to warrent getting a bigger speaker setup, as it is now I can barely space out 4 speakers. Aside from the fact that the Audigy may cut down on CPU cycles are there any other advantages? I've had 2 Creative cards in the past 4 years and have had nothing but crappy drivers, and poor software that came with them. The gimicky surround modes were a joke, and i've never heard a whole lot of difference between using the Miles audio decoder or EAX surround. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a good reason to spend another $80 for what I think won't impact my overall gaming experience.
