Audigy vs. old soundblaster live value - is there a difference really?

I have an old soundblaster live value. This is the one without 5.1. I want to know if I would really see a difference upgrading to the audigy. Also, I have klipsch 4.1 speakers. I like to watch dvds on my computer too. I just want t to know the differences you guys see. Does this mean I would have real sourround sound with this card? I know I do not have a center channel but I have the rest. Thanks!

Hell yes. I love my Audigy.

I'm tool lazy to re-type all the reasons, but I recently went from a SBLive X-Gamer, to a Herc GTXP, to a TB Santa Cruz, and finally to a SB Audigy X-Gamer. I posted individual reviews of each of them HERE with details on what I liked/disliked about each of them.

Nice job on the review. I guess it is time to replace my soundblaster live value. The card does have surround sound for movies?

I just upgraded my Sq2500 with an Audigy Gamer and there is a noticeable improvement in sound clarity. My SQ2500 has always seemed to be as good as my bro's Live, though I came to this conclusion based upon comparisons in different rooms and with different speaker setups.

Yes, if you have a 5.1 speaker setup you can get 5.1 sound from a DVD player that supports it. If you want your music played in 5.1 you are better off with a Hercules GTXP or the Phillips AE, which were the soundcards I would have preferred, but my supplier doesn't carry them. 🙁 So far I like this Gamer, but I'll reserve my final judgement for when I finally get the Klipsch 5.1s, which could be another month or more yet.
