audigy versus live!

if i upgrade to the SB Audigy from my current SB live, what improvements should i expect to see?

Firewire. Well, I find it useful anyway.

Stick with the live. I had an sblive platinum 5.1 and bought an audigy mp3+ and can hear absoluteyly no difference at all. None, zip, nada. $100 bucks wasted. As for firewire, well, I have no firewire devices so im SOL. Actually, I preffered my platinum 5.1 as it had legacy drivers that worked in WinME. The legacy drivers for Audigy dont work with WinME. Its not a big deal for most people but I still play a lot of old games like the original tombraider and alone in the dark 1 2 and 3 and commanche 3 and such.

I`ve to disagree with that,I have one PC with SB live and another with SB Audigy and there`s a difference I can hear ,I`ve mine setup through a HI-FI amp that use the same speakers for both PCs and the SB Audigy is clearer with less hiss etc.

The bottom line is it does sound better IMHO but only you can decide if the money & sound quality is worth the upgrade.

I also believe there's a noticable difference in sound quality between the Live! family and the Audigy family.
