My startup file is empty and I can't just "right click" for an option to disable. I suppose a registry hack is in order? Any other suggestions?

if you are on Win98/ME or XP then do a start>run>msconfig>Startup Tab > and remove the entries for the Creative stuff. If you are on 2k then go into regedit and naviagte to

HKey_local_machine>sofrware>microsoft>windows>current version > and look for the keys under the "Run" hive and delete the entries .. hope this helps ..

(you can also download a msconfig for Win2k

Hi.
RegCleaner from www.jv16.org is your friend. I use it all the time. Allows you to make all sorts of startup changes to the registry, and it has a 'back up' feature, allowing you to disable any changes you've made if you reckon they've gone astray. Highly recommended :)

Are you talking about that gawd awful taskbar across the top of the screen that pop down when you mouse over it?

If you are talking about the taskbar at the top of the screen, you need to place your cursor over it so it opens up. Then go to the far left hand side and and you can open the system menu. Select properties and uncheck the box for load at startup.

Man the day I got my Audigy I was more interested in getting rid of that stupid soundbar then to see how good my system sounded.
