The OEM version works fine for me. If those games are worth $25, then get the retail.

all cards are the exact same thing except maybe one of the cards comes with gold outputs?

also the packages that differ are mainly games and programs.

the best bang for your buck would be to buy the oem card.

The games that it comes with are actually pretty decent games. I remember I got NFS5 when I got my SB Live (at the time the game was going for $49). You can find out at www.soundblaster.com what games it comes with.

You get Deus Ex, still the best single player shooting game in my opinion(it can do multiplayer too btw), and Giants, again one of the most beautiful games created. They're both quite dated actually, but if you dont have either of these games, I highly recommend you to go for the retail Gamer, it's totally worth the money.

Only worth getting it for the games if you actually WANT those games and don't have them. :) Personally I wouldn't play them, so the OEM would be perfect for me. (And just because I don't want to play THOSE games doesn't mean the Audigy is stupid for me to buy.)

Are they also complete versions of the games?

Lord Evermore,

Well, if you dont want any games you wouldn't be looking at the retail Audigy Gamer in the first place, and I did say it's worth it if you don't already have the games. You said you wouldnt play them, as in they suck? Or you do mean you just don't play any games at all? Yes, they are full versions of the game, Deus Ex is even the Game of The Year edition, still goes for like $39 in retail outlets.

I agree, both are great games but the difference in price in Canada is $44. You can buy Deus Ex for $14.99. I can't see Giants costing $30.... My point is that you should get the OEM and pick up a cheap copy of Deus Ex.... You could problaby grab Giants for $20 in a second hand or cheapies bin if you really want it. I don't think it's anywhere near as interesting as Deus Ex.
