Audigy Platinum IR Port

Anyone have any idea of the IR Port on the Audigy is able to be used as a regular IRDA port?

It would be interesting if it could....

I was wondering the same thing... as far as I know it's just for the stupid remote, that I don't use.

It's be nice if I could use that IR port to send stuff to my cell phone or PDA. Save me having to go out and buy a separate unit.

I think it's only for the remote, since it wont work with my cell phone...
