creative cards have issues with SMP systems has well.

Yes they have! I tried both Live 5.1 and Audigy in my dual MP1800+ rig. Both suck! Stuck with the onboard sound now. 🙁

wow ... you don't say.

Knowing how my Live crackled in my last system, I didn't even bother transferring it to my new system because I have a raid and didn't want crackle city.

The Audigy is a great card but I just wish Creative would update their drivers more often. In the time from August to November the only "update" they did was to add multilingual crap to the package.

Hopefully this issue will convince them to put a bit more work into their drivers.

There is a group of Russian Programmers that have developed their own drivers that eliminate the timing issues associated with the Audigy and SMP systems. I've tried an Audigy2 and it too has the same problem with SMP systems. If HT systems cause the same timing issues CL better get on the ball and fix this FAST! The main problem I've observed was timing with video playback and animation that had audio streams that required synchronisation that is fairly precise. The Animusic demo (ATi 9700+DX9) is a great test to demonstrate this. Slap in any CL PCI card on a SMP system and run this and you'll see what I mean.

Cheers!

IMO, if Creative doesn't do anything quick, Intel might come in to help. It would be a good thing too, maybe some good drivers for once.

Good, I'm glad it doesn't work. There was never any reason for Creative to fix the SMP problem before since the smp gaming market was basically nonexistent. Bringing the problem to the masses will force Creative to attempt to fix the problem.
