Well basically my problem is that whenever i burn a cd using my 40125W lite on drive, my sound starts to crackle and pop and as soon as the cd finishes it goes back to normal as if nothing has happened. It really didnt bother me much but now i am ready to take it out. I know that there are random problems with the audigy and Via chipsets but i have never heard of it having a problem with sis chipsets.

My specs are:

P4 northwood 2.0A
Asus P4S533
Samsung 256Mb DDR333
Supergrace Radeon 8500le
SB Audigy
Seagate B'cuda 60GB
Liteon 40125W
Pioneer 6X DVD

I have DMA enabled on all drive and have the latest drivers for all device.

Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a fix?

Thanks for any replies

Ironic I don`t have any problems with my VIA/Audigy combo, anyway you did disable onboard sound? You can also disable midi port address in bios as well & see if that makes a difference, you could try moving the Audigy to a different PCI slot.

Well i just formatted and reinstalled everything again. I fugired that some older on board sound drivers were probably conflicting with the audigy somewhere and formating seems to have fixed the problem.

thanks for the help anyway
