Audigy 2 zs problem

Hi everyone. I am having a problem with my sound. today i bought an Audigy 2 zs card because i thought my onboard sound (c-media 8738) was not working. This all started when I reset my CMOS after an unsuccessful OC. I had my memory set too high. Now I have no sound. I reinstalled XP (full install) to no avail. I installed the card just fine and it passed all the diagnostic tests. the problem is I hear no sound. The only time i hear sound is when play the creative 24-bit music sample (so my speakers are plugged in correctly) when the computer starts up. I checked for conflicting IRQ's , switched PCI slots, updated the driver's and nothing. Can anyone help me? I feel like I wasted $70.
here are my specs:

P4 2.23 w/ FSB (currently trying to OC)
mobo: soyo p4-64dx Dagon ultra
video: bfg 6800 gt OC
DVD r drive: TDK 840g
cd r drive: hp 9100
HD: wd 120 GB 7200 rpm, wd 80 GB 7200 rpm
1 GB PC 2100 DDR RAM
Sound: Creative Labs Audigy 2 zs
PS: Enermax 350W

In your sound control panel, check what devices are set to be used for sounds.

Also, you did disable your onboard in bios, right?
