Audigy 2 vs M-Audio Revolution. Which is better for games

I'm putting a new rig together and the sound card is one of my final pieces. Currently I'm running a SB Live and I'm looking to upgrade and these two cards look to be pretty good (as well as Turtle Beach SC). Of these cards, which one is best in games and has a low cpu impact.
Thanks

Audigy 2 will be better for games. The Revo however, is a very nice card for music. In terms of CPU usage, the Audigy 2 is lower, but on any computer over say 700MHz, you'll be hard pressed to notice any difference.

Cheers

Not a great idea to consider a sound card in complete isolation from the speakers.

A great card with crap speakers gives crap sound.

Great speakers can be wasted on a card without the necessary outputs.

You get the idea.

Think along the lines of buying a well-balanced stereo system.

true. but the audigy will be better for games than the revolution. although they say m-audio is going to release some driver updates to make gaming better. sounds too weird to me for just drivers to make it all better.

Well, the reverb engine on the M-audio is done is software, via Sensaura 3D, so a driver update could change the gaming effects completly.

Cheers
