Audigy 2 vs Live 5.1: any difference in performance factor?

I'm not a real audiophile when it comes to sound from my games. So the only reason I want to get a sound card is for the performance factor, so I don't have to use onboard sound and tie up the CPU. Does the Audigy 2 make any greater difference, in regards to system performance, compared to a regular Creative Labs Live 5.1? I'm hoping no, as the Audigy starts at around $120 where the Live 5.1 is only $40 or so. Thanks 🙂

I just upgraded from a live 5.1 to an audigy and I noticed the difference in sound "sharpness". Each note was more defined, and there was no hiss when I used my headphones, like the live had. Performance wise, I have no idea, I never really thought about it.
