Audigy 2 value or ZS?

I recently bought this audigy 2 zs oem from ebay andI'm currently waiting for it to be delivered:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SOUND-BLASTER-AUD...414QQcategoryZ3701QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I've emailed the seller this question, but I haven't had a reply yet. My question is, is that card which is pictured a ZS or a value? It looks like a value, but what does a zs look like which has been pulled from say a dell rig? If it is a valu, what performance derease can expect?
Thanks

Audigy 2 ZS

The Value edition lacks FireWire, gold plated jacks, and connectors for Creative's front console panel, but should perform the same re: EAX Advanced HD, etc.

Firewire port is the rightmost (bottom) rear connector in the pic.

My pic is a ZS, the Ebay pic is a Value.

The retail ones have firewire ports, but not the Value ones. There are OEM ones with firewire, but not all of them.

I don't think a power seller with 98.4% positive feedback is randomly going to start lying about a $20 sound card.

So what you're saying is that the Value edition lacks every single distinguishing feature of the picture you posted? 😕

Are you just trying to confuse him?

Its the value edition because it states in auction. The picture is probably off the internet and no thte actual card. Look up the value edition if u want all the features and a proper picture.

I think he understood what I posted - if you can't, that's not my concern.

What's there to understand? You posted a link to link a picture of a Platinum Pro card with Firewire and gold-plated jacks and breakout connectors. That has nothing to do with his question.

Actually, the picture in the auction is exactly what the value edition without firewire looks like.

Here's a Platinum Pro - get your facts straight before you accuse people of not having done the same.

Sound cards- never worth extra dough

I had a audigy 2 zs, didn't see a difference from my audigy ls, so I returned the zs and saved $50+

unless you have crazy good speakers, it's not worth upgrading sound at all. Hell, with normal speakers you prob couldn't tell a diff between audigy 2 and onboard sound.

not always true. my onboard sound (and from what i gather most onboard sound) creates a buzz from interference that i don't get with a soundcard.

yes even an sb live value can improve sound... esp if you use headphones.

fine you had a problem, doens't mean everyone's on board sound is defective also.

it's not defective. it's a byproduct of being on the motherboard instead of it's own card. this is old news, not anything new.

That's interesting, because the first picture you linked to is from an article that has an itentical picture which says "Platinum Pro" right on it.

Oops!

Still, neither of them look anything like the value edition. 🙂

So your saying every on board sound has that problem? that's funny, both motherboards I won don't have that problem...

wow you're thick. i guess since both of your motherboards don't have this problem it doesn't exist. out of the 3 i've currently used 2 have and 1 hasn't. the shuttle cube i had didn't have the problem either. google 'onboard sound interference' or just keep thinking whatever.
